Description
Book bound in vellum with black ink line decoration and gold tooling of lines and dots. There is green leather on the spine with the title in gold tooling, a fore-edge painting of a ship, and marbled end papers. The book comes with its accompanying drop-back box in beige cloth, with brown leather on the spine with the title in gold, and green velvet inside.
Materials and techniques
The dished gold dots were produced by a domed tool made for the purpose and struck with the pneumatic tooling ram designed and made by Sydney M. Cockerell. In beige cloth covered drop-back box.
