Description

Silver teardrop-shaped frame with one gold-edged silver ring hanging within the tear drop.

Materials and techniques

The wire used to construct the frame was drawn thorugh a tear drop shaped drawplate. The circle is hammered silver with an 18ct gold edge. The whole brooch is oxidised. Finish - glass brushed and brass brushed.

It is part of a recent series which dvelops the theme of movement and change. The spirit level association has three possible meanings, like a spirit level to indicate whether a surface is level; the level of spirit; the level of a spirit.
