Materials and techniques

Made from angle iron. Jointing by punched tabs in the verticals which fold over the forged horizontals. Verticals are crushed to an 'aerofoil' section. Actual gates pivot on central posts, locking in both open and closed positions. Extensive use of fly-press for forging, punching, crushing and straightening.
