Materials and techniques

Copper sheet, brass sheet, steel rod, metal mesh. Marks on metal made by number and letters punches. Wheels made with a doming block and punch. All pieces cut from sheet metal and shaped with hand tools. Silver soldered with easy-flo solde. Many pieces heated and dipped in water for colours.

Maker's statement

It was one of the last inventions I made in connection with my currant bun experiments. I needed to be able to dry out the currants ready for storage, for currant collection. They are on wheels to allow the shed to be easily pushed to one side when it is hot.
