Maker's statement

It was specifically made for the 'New Metalwork' exhibition at Contemporary Applied Arts (October 1993) as a new third piece to accompany two metal maoney boxes which were made three years previously. The casket was intended to bridge the gap between these older works and more recent work, employing a mixture of techniques, forms and finishes.
