Description

Tall porcelain bowl stained and sprayed with oxides to create sheen and sprayed colour effects.

Materials and techniques

Reduced porcelain with a seam of porcelain clay stained with iron and manganese, and sprayed with thin copper oxide; bronze to brown lustre. Thrown; the seam added before throwing. Fired within a saggar containing combustible material to 1300 deg. C, which gives a lustrous effect on cooling.
