Description

White earthenware panel depicting two dogs (one with a human body and a bag on the left shoulder), with a coloured border of geometric patterns and tree forms.

Materials and techniques

Oxidised earthenware with matt lead sesquisilicate glaze decorated with black incised drawing and painted with slips; blues, brown, green, purple and yellow. Incised drawing on rolled sheet filled with black underglaze before firing at 1150 deg. C. Glaze sprayed on.

Maker's statement

Tame v. wild theme (or civilized/ natural) theme is a recurrent interest. Also images juxtaposed with pattern having equal importance. I think one of my best flat pieces.
