Description

Clay teapot with a mottled orange-grey saltglaze, with a lid, a round handle, and a long curved spout.

Materials and techniques

Thrown and turned pot and lid, with extruded handle and press-moulded spout. Engobe of 60% felspar, 40% china clay on outside and a black underglaze and iron oxide pigment sprayed over exterior. Saltglazed at 1280 deg. C in a reduction atmosphere.
