Description

Cylindrical porcelain vessel with a foot and two wing forms, with an off-white glaze. There are maker marks on two sides of the foot.

Materials and techniques

Reduced porcelain with off-white glaze and copper oxide inside. Thrown in two parts. Wings made by pulling and rotating unevenly a bent piece of wire through a block of clay and applied to body when leather hard. Biscuit fired to 960 deg C; glaze fired to 1280 deg. C.
