Materials and techniques
Cotton muslin - lightweight. Hand embroidered with cotton silk, synthetic and metallic threads. Kozo paper. 10cm fold at the top for a pole. Wooden pole accompanies object.

Maker's statement
I usually work in foreign countries. This work is the first I have undertaken in my home country (Japan) and is also the first in which I have used my family and home as both subjects and inspiration. The close afinity I felt towards my surrounds allowd me to view and represent the subject in an unusually intimate way.
