Description

Wall panel in carved pine, depicting an abstract landscape with an unstained and stained background, and relief patterning in yellow, blue, red and white.

Materials and techniques

Two boards of Quebec pine glued together with 'Resin W'. Carved, using traditional carving gouges (on a bench). A sealant of shellac put on, then finished with white wax. Made with the idea of exploring flat surfaces with a view to decorating doors, walls, cabinets, etc.
