Brief history
Concepts was founded in 1976 in Carmel, California by Doug Steakley and his wife Jackie. Steakley was working as a goldsmith producing both jewellery and holloware and initially set up Concepts as a place to exhibit and sell his own work. The business quickly expanded and became a leading gallery for the sale and exhibition of contemporary craft jewellery.
