Description
Earthenware platter (c.1840) with inglaze and decal collaging and gold lustre. The 'Willow' pattern is embellished with numerous sunflowers, and a sillhouette of Ai Weiwei on top of a bridge in the bottom right.
Materials and techniques
Earthenware Willow pattern platter (c.1840) bought from eBay. Erased (with Dremel tool, diamond bit) detail. Re-glazed erased parts, refired (1100C), then inglaze decal collaging usin own made screen-printed transfers. Refired (1080C), the painted with gold lustre, refired (725C).
