Maker's statement

The Still Life Necklace was a real move towards true statement pieces for Tatty Devine, it was a challenge to move the still life into a wearable structure. Moving art from one realm to another. The piece developed on from further collections, using the form itself to create the structure of necklace and multi elements combining to create an over all trompe l'oeil effect.

The collection was inspired by many elements from a reaction to sexist 1950's magazine advertising, furniture design of Ettore Sottsass, textiles of nathalie du pasquier, and still life from Cezanne to Hockney.
