The uprights are bolted to the stone base from underneath. The rack comes flat pack in those components.

Materials and techniques

The stone base is made of several pieces of stone slab which were sourced from an 'out of business' stone yard in West London. The base was fabricated by Klaus Weiskopf, master marble and stone mason, pieced together in order to make a 'collage' of different types of stone from different places around the world. The wooden uprights as well as te tubular steel work were fabricated by Max Frommeld.
