The Young Craft Citizens Filmmaking Project forms part of the wider Collections Consultation Programme, supported through HLF Craft for the People. As part of this initiative, the Crafts Council commissioned six Young Craft Citizens to engage with and respond to objects within the Crafts Council Collection through creative filmmaking.

Speculum Vogue follows a character on a ritualistic journey in search of the ingredients for a glass recipe said to possess transformative powers. The film was commissioned by Crafts Council as part of Craft for the People, a three-year project to increase the accessibility of the national collection for contemporary craft. The film draws inspiration from Jochen Holz series for Nature Lab in the Crafts Council’s collection.
