The Young Craft Citizens Filmmaking Project forms part of the wider Collections Consultation Programme, supported through HLF Craft for the People. As part of this initiative, the Crafts Council commissioned six Young Craft Citizens to engage with and respond to objects within the Crafts Council Collection through creative filmmaking.

The film was commissioned by Crafts Council, as part of Craft for the People a three-year project to increase the accessibility of the national collection for contemporary craft. The film draws on archival records connected to the Crafts Council's 1972 exhibition Ten British Potters. It features archival material and works by Joanna Constantinidis, Carol McNicoll, Janice Tchalenko and Magdalene Odundo.
