Description
Clear glass with a central abstract decoration of interweaving red and white blocks with a misty green background.
Materials and techniques
Powdered glass colour is inter-mixed and arranged as a circular image on marver. A small parison is made. A gather of glass is dropped onto the image and formed into a flat disc which is picked up on the base of the parison. The disc is reheated to case the end of the parison and further detail is added by using glass cane. The same process is repeated with a second larger disc in opal white covering the first one - this achieves a misty background. The whole is then cased in clear glass, blown to shape, transferred to the punty and then opened up before finally being spun out into a plate.
