Description
A glass construction in blown lead crystal, with underlay of wie red and smoke grey and flat glass in bronze. There are two blown elements with 'purity' cuts and bevelled edges mounted on cut and edge worked flat glass. The forms are mounted on the flat glass with silicone compound.
Materials and techniques
The blown elements are made at the furnace using traditional tools and blown free hand. The cold work includes cutting, smoothing and polishing on a full size lathe, inaglio lathe and belt linisher with both machine and hand lathing (sic). The flat glass was cut with a tungsten wheel cutter, then edge worked on the intaglio lathe. The silicone was extruded from a gun onto the masked profile of the cut forms.
