Bowl made from fused crystal glass strings.
Materials and techniques
Fused crystal glass strings. The strings were pulled from the melted glass in the furnace and fused in a kiln at a temperature high enough to adhere but low enough to keep a delicate basket-like fragility.

Maker's statement
1997: This piece combines the possibilities of the kiln forming technique with the furnace (liquid glass) also playing a major part. In terms of concept, it can be described as limited production work not purely based on repetition, each one of this series is individual. This allows the opportunity to explore colour, temperature level of melt of the glass etc.
