Maker's statement
The sculpture is a ball like structure, which has split partially open. The surface comprises of highly burnished smooth areas juxtaposed with pierced textured areas. One of the themes that my work frequently explores is hidden micro worlds. The wild places housed under log piles, in crevices hosting myriad life forms. The inside of the object reflects this by housing a cacophony of twists, pods and fronded forms.
