Materials and techniques
Stainless steel 304 flattened wire, close woven spiral wire/rods. This material and other spiral weave flexible materials were developed for use as conveyer belts. The material is composed of alternating right and left hand spirals connected by crimped crossrods, these crossrods preventing the spirals from moving laterally and therefore maintaining the shape of the material under tension.
