Maker's statement
The hand crafted bangle is made from pages of old and damaged books as well as brown paper used for packaging. The paper is layered and then sculpted revealing glimpses of text as the layers are worked away using hand tools. The layers of brown paper stacked within the pages create solid rings like those in wood grain. This piece is inspired by the natural forms of driftwood and stones found on my local Cornish beach.
