Description
Hollow brass disc-shaped brooch patinated with copper nitrate, with red copper features and stainless steel pin attachments.
Materials and techniques
The hollow disc is fabricated from red brass sheet, brass rimmed and with stainless steel attachments; patinated with copper nitrate; pins of silver tube, rivetted, with red copper feature. Waxed and sealed.

Maker's statement
The brooch was the final piece completed for the above exhibition and as such was the culmination of the concepts I was preoccupied with at that time. A long period of gestation for this piece took place between the construction of the major structure and the final decisions on surface, patina etc. As such the piece encompassed the whole period of work leading up to the exhibition and became itself the final statement of that body of work.
