Maker's statement

One of the second wave of a group of layered, painted one-off brooches and earrings which I made from 1988 - 90, developed firstly for the exhibition 'Special Effects' in Bradford. Shown alongside an exhibition of Indian jewellery, and very much inspired by it. This piece came from a group made for 'British Jewellery' which developed and refined my earlier pieces.
