Description

Hand carved 1950's green cellulose-acetate, thermoplastic, enclosed at the top with flat cut oval shapes. Three ovals are pegged in to the green acetate.

Materials and techniques

Hand carved 1950's green cellulose-acetate, thermoplastic, enclosed at the top with flat cut oval shapes. Three ovals are pegged in to the green acetate. A layer of thin metal is applied to a recess routed from the flat tops of the ovals. Silver rivets are made form tubing and inserted into the recess (drilled holes). Brooch fittings are precious white metal, constructed from sheet, tubing and wire. Pin is surgical stainless steel.
