Description
Round brooch with single pink petals set in a oxidised copper and perspex frame with a 25mm diameter hole in the middle.
Materials and techniques
Pressed and laminated petals set in oxidised copper and perspex frame. Silver rivets and a stainless steel pin. Techniques used: piercing, soldering, laminating and riveting.

Maker's statement
The gerbera petal brooch forms part of the more minimal range I designed specially to complement my "busier" trademark range of printers tray and compartment pieces. Instead of using a diverse range of found and formed object to fill compartments I concentrate on one element, such as a petal and repeat it. Of my two ranges, I see this work more as fashion jewellery: designed to make a statement on very simple beautifully cut clothes. Also see J254
