Description
Gold chain with sliding solid bar, with heart shaped blue agate stones at the ends of the chain, and two gold beads on the chain.
Materials and techniques
18ct pale yellow gold wire and chain and blue-stained agate hearts cut in Germany to the maker's pattern, incorporating a hole from which to suspend them. The rigid front section is of wire that the maker made from a cast scrap and hammered at each end into a tapering hook which attaches behind small 'buttons' on the square-section 'loop-in-loop' chain - the chain which terminates at both ends in front in hammered wire which passes through the agates and winds back on itself.
