Description

Pair of non-identical earrings made of gold and oxidised iron, one with a triangular fan shaped textured shape dangling from a large sheppard hook, the other with an iron half circle piece dangling from a sheppard hook.

Materials and techniques

18ct pale yellow gold and oxidised iron. Fan-shaped pendant is textured and thickened at the edge by burning the surface. Earwires are tapered by forging and twisted to strengthen the thinnest end.

This piece exemplifies my interest in making a direct statement whilst at the same time paying attention to fine detail & craftsmanship, & is allied in spirit to my P453 necklet and P460 bracelet
