Description
Circular aluminium frame with white resin and acrylic inserts, with a metal pin.
Materials and techniques
Polyester resin and acrylic inserts in aluminium frame. White; one section coloured. Made by cutting lines into the surface of polyester resin blocks and inserting acrylic coloured strips. Radiating lines where cut with a slotting saw and circular lines where applied on the lathe.

Maker's statement
These 'in line' pieces follow the 'on tour' items and have a similar linear quality. However technics have developed meaning that they are much finer and more geometrically accurate. The change to polyester resin was primarily to accommodate this precision since acrylic - being thermoplasts change with machining, and are far less productive in colour and control.
