Description

Mild steel bowl with a small opening.

Materials and techniques

Formed in two halves, each gas cut from mild steel plate and pressed while hot between former dies. Top opening gas cut, lip formed by lathe-turning. Two halves joined by electric arc welding; finished by linishing. Fire texture created by 'soaking' at red heat in forge. Cleaned in acid, polished and waxed.
