Maker's statement
I wanted to be an archeologist but found the academic aspects daunting. So in my ceramics I echoed and paid homage to the past. It is the persistence of things and their personal histories which I repsond to, the integrity of objects, though thier function is superceeded it is still apparent in the piece. I want a feeling that the pieces could be from a future archeology, accessbile yet intangable, a diary of some hand in some action formed for connection with the present user.
