Description

Oxidised porcelain bowl with a narrow base and a predominantly green glaze, with blue and blue abstract patterns.

Materials and techniques

Oxidised porcelain with semi-matt white glaze and decorated with oxides; blue and green. Hand-modelled by pinching the form out of one ball of clay. The foot ring added separately. Oxides painted onto the raw clay before firing. Biscuit fired at 960 deg. C; glaze fired at 1300 deg. C more than once.

Maker's statement

It is one of the pieces in which I am contrasting coloured areas with white glazed areas, and is one of the new pieces which I am intending developing during my bursary year.
