Description

Porcelain bowl stained and sprayed with oxides to create pink/purple and gold spray effects.

Materials and techniques

Reduced porcelain with a seam of porcelain clay stained with iron and manganese; and sprayed with thin copper oxide. Thrown. Fired at 1300 deg.C.

Maker's statement

This pot is one of the first which I fired using the saggar technique. the method is hazardous with many failures - a fact one forgets when a pot is fired successfully.
