Description

Earthenware bowl with a split-level rim giving the appearance of a comma, decorated with intersecting lines of inlaid clay in orange, green, and brown.

Materials and techniques

Oxidised earthenware; buff clay inlaid with red clay lines and grated clay. Decorated with white glaze; enamel washes on unglazed clay - orange and green inside, green outside and dashes of enamel colour; blue, brown, green and orange. Slab-built. Glaze fired to 1180 deg. C; enamel fired to 800 deg. C.
