Maker's statement

This pot is one of a series I have been working on over the last few years dealing with the relationship between form and surface. The surface has dealt with either reinforcing the essential structure of the form (as with this pot) or worked against and erected a dischord. The spiral on this pot helps to define the growth of the form from a small foot to a developed shoulder and neck. It also refers to the method of making (i.e. being thrown on a wheel).
