Description
Red earthenware teapot with brown slip decoration, sponged then trailed into abstract swirl patterns.
Materials and techniques
Red earthenware with added ball clay, grog and barium carbonate. Wheel thrown, with pulled handle. Decorated with brown slip, sponged away then trailed decoration. Lead and clay based glaze applied when leather hard. Wood fired to about 1080 deg. C.
