Description
Clay vessel with a dark grey burnished finish, with a round 'heart-shaped' body, a double handle and a spout.
Materials and techniques
Handbuilt red clay. Burnished then clay slip coated and burnished over for a final finish. Work is fired in an oxidised atmosphere (gas kiln), then carbonized in a heavy reduced atmosphere - enclosed in saggars with wood/wood chips/wood shavings. Temperatures range from 930 - 1040 deg. C.
