Hand built stoneware clay; coloured with oxide before bisque firing, thin brushed on glaze, oxidation fired to cone 7.

One of a series of large "flattened upright caskets" of very simple form. Last piece to have any kind of an opening on the top - ie. in the "proper place" - and it's more of a "representation" using a row of chiselled holes.
