Woven silk and wool scarf, highly textured with a grey and blue square pattern, and thread detailing in red.
Materials and techniques
Silk and wool double cloth; hand dyed with acid dyes. Hand woven on a dobby loom, with silk and wool warps. Separately tensioned.

Maker's statement
1993: This double cloth is a development of my earlier experiments with textural possibilities of high twist yarns in woven structures. The silky wool face of the cloth is thrown into relief during the finishing process by the contraction of a lower layer of high twist wool.
