Woven silk stole, with green and blue threads, and a stretchy, ribbed and elastic texture.
Materials and techniques
Hand-dyed with acid dyes. Hand woven on 8 shaft countermarch loom using two separately tensioned warps.

Maker's statement
Design first produced 1988. Artist's statement 1993: This piece is part of my continuing interest in exploiting yarn twist and weave structure to create texture and elasticity. Narrow warp and weft faced stripes, combined with an overtwisted silk yarn, create an effect of soft pleats during the finishing process.
