Silk polyviscose velvet scarf with a stripe and block design in pink, purple, gold and black.
Materials and techniques
Special mixed fibre velvet, silk polyviscose velvet. Devore/burn out technique applied to fabric with patterned textured silk screen. Fabric then dyed with direct blue, then white discharge silk screened onto piled side of velvet to obtain pattern

Maker's statement
1995: My larger one-off printed velvet devore hangings which I produced for my degree show at the RCA was the inspiration for the scarves. They started off as mini versions of the banners and the designs evolved into collection
