Description

Scarf with platinum coloured ruched strips of silk and lambswool.

Materials and techniques

Embroidered, felted and hand dyed silk satin and lambswool scarf. The scarf is stitched then scoured then dyed using acid dyes. The lambswool shrinks but the silk does not, creating a ruched effect. The maker has to start with a much larger piece of silk satin as it reduces considerably in size.
