Materials and techniques
Satin, spray-dyed and quilted with cotton wadding and calico backing. Greys, orange and blue. The design is built up by using Fablon or masking tape to resist the spray of dye. The cloth is steamed to fix the dye, washed and ironed before being layered with wadding and backing fabric, and machine-quilted. It is then pinned out on to wet paper to stretch, flatten and wet-finish it.
