Maker's statement

1997: This stool borrowed its structural principle from the traditional Japanese travel neck-rest. Laminated cardboard is glued vertically to maximise its strength, and locks tightly as one's weight bears down on it. It is a 'sketching stool', you can carry and use to perch on for a short time, in a similar fashion to a shooting stick.
