Smooth Spiral Bowl
Ash bowl in a spiral shape with straight edges and a strong sharp cut on the rim.
Materials and techniques
A square board of olive ash is sawn into a spiral, the bed of the band saw having been tilted to an angle so that the underside of one loop is perpendicular to the top side of the next loop in. The spirals are pulled through one another, glued and sanded. The bottom edge is planed flat and the base glued on.
