Description

Dark Indian rosewood bowl, with a flat base and straight walls angling upwards.

Materials and techniques

A square board of Indian rosewood is sawn into a spiral; the bed of the band saw having been tilted to an angle so that the underside of one loop is perpendicular to the top side of the next loop in. The spirals are pulled through one another, glued and sanded. The bottom edge is planed flat and the base glued on.
