Description
Off-white grey-marked pepple tied up with laser-welded 1mm diameter austenitic stainless steel wire, with ring for security (or could be worn as pendant).
Prior to its acquisition by the Crafts Council, this object was displayed as part of the handling collection in the maker's 2015 touring retrospective exhibition "Necklace for an Elephant and Other Stories: the working lives of David Poston".

Materials and techniques
Pebble used was found on a beach. Austenitic stainless steel were added using a laser-welding machine.

This is a fun object, intended to surprise people by the technical tease of a stone wrapped in steel wire. Simultaneously it is a interesting tactile object due to the interruption of the stone by the wire.
