Maker's statement
This brooch explores material qualities and combinations. I mimic the visual 'language' of crocheting in the metal part and then extend the metal form with actual crocheting using a brightly coloured wool yarn. The wax model is a one-off, made from wax wire and liquid wax poured over a square section of tubing, the rippeling effect of the wax can still be seen in the cast silver piece.
