Materials and techniques

The spiral arm piece/bracelet is made from eight strands of strapping tape plaited together. The ends are folded and then plaited back into itself. Joining a different coloured tape to each of the eight original strands mixes the colours. Different colours are used not only for decoration, they also allow the wearer to chose the colour of the bracelet; whether it be the orange on the outside or the yellow.

Maker's statement

I was studying a Japanese weave and tried to convert the method into a plait. After which I began to experiment with the plaiting technique, trying to find what I could create with it.
